Apr 9: Gerard Way, Dennis Quaid and Almond Cookies!

Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day honors the bravery and sacrifice of former prisoners of war. Today we acknowledge the challenges they endured during their captivity and celebrates their resilience.

Chicken Little Awareness Day recognizes the classic tale of Chicken Little, who famously exclaimed, “The sky is falling!” This celebration reminds us to approach life with a sense of humor and perspective to avoid unnecessary panic over minor setbacks or perceived threats.

Chinese Almond Cookie Day is a delicious excuse to indulge in these crispy, almond-flavored treats.  These cookies are often served during special occasions and celebrations. They’re characterized by their round shape, topped with a single almond or sometimes a red dot in the center, symbolizing good luck and prosperity in Chinese culture.
